Baton Rouge RC Club Newsletter - Nov 2003 PRESIDENT - Farley Phillips - VICE PRESIDENT - Vic Jines - SECERETARY - Gene Lewis TREASURER - BC Kistler EDITOR - Jimmy Lyon - Tel. (225) 753-4637 (brrccnewsletter@redstickrc.org) NOTICE - The next meeting of the BR RC Club will be Tuesday Nov 4th at the Greenwell Springs Road Library at 7:00 PM And now for a word from our Treasurer: Welcome three new members who recently joined the club. Donald Sturgeon, is a former member who might need a little help learning to 'flap' his wings again. Paul Daly and Donald Keen, are both members of the Red Stick club, and they are accomplished fliers. Welcome them and let them know that we're glad to have them aboard. You are reminded that nominations for next year's club officers will be made and finalized at the November meeting. Anyone whom you plan to nominate should (1) agree to be a nominee and (2) agree to serve if elected. The election will be held at the December meeting. Get your checks in the mail soon to renew your AMA membership for 2004. Otherwise, you may not have your new membership card when you want to pay your BRRCC dues at the January meeting. Plan now to be at the Family Day Fun-fly, on Saturday, November 8th. There will be several 'fun' events to participate in, and Blackie's Jambalaya (the worlds finest) will be served for lunch. Don't miss it! Put it on your calendar now. That's about it for now. Happy flyin'. BCK There was some discussion at the meeting about having another Ladies Night this year. Sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed favorable. Mike Anderson's in Gonzales is booked up in December. Lets bring this up and think of a date, possibly the first half of January. Bob Macmillan has agreed to be Club Safety Officer. Lets help him out if you see any unsafe practices or find ways to be more safety conscious let him know. I am going to do a talk on radio programming. I need all the help I can get here. I was setting up my radio for a new plane and realized I have forgotten a lot on programming. I found a little on Futaba's web site but have not found a lot of information elsewhere. Anyone with questions bring your transmitter and the manual so we can go through it. I am sure that we can come up with some answers but it might take some thought. If you have anything that you would like to see or present step up and let us know. It does not have to take up a full half-hour.
